A Round Up of 2019
There is so much to say about 2019 that we’re not quite sure where to start! It was a big year for us in many ways, not least because we hosted a record number of weddings and events at the Hall, and we launched our new Stables accommodation in the Spring; 4 luxury self-catering cottages housed in the old Victorian stable yard.
2019 was Polly’s first full wedding season and she hit the ground running! It can be difficult when you take on existing bookings because weddings are booked so far in advance but she approached the season like a pro. She made friends with all of her couples and worked really hard to ensure that they had the day they had always dreamed of!
She says, ‘I’m so excited for 2020 wedding season to begin because the majority of my couples are ones that I have booked and have gone through the whole planning process with. It will be amazing to see them get married at Garthmyl and no doubt I’ll cry when they leave!’
Although we are primarily a wedding venue we always aim to put on a number of different events throughout the year that cater to different people and to ensure that Garthmyl Hall remains an exciting, diverse events space.
In 2019, around our wedding bookings, we hosted a casino night, two luxury wedding fairs, an open garden event, two gin & live music evenings, shooting parties, Christmas parties and a couples’ reunion evening! We have more events planned in for 2020, including our first Luxury Wedding Fair of the year on Sunday 23rd February and a special Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea event on Sunday 22nd March.
The positive feedback we have received regarding our new Stables accommodation has been overwhelming! We have two larger cottages, the Old Dairy and the Clock Tower and two smaller units sleeping 2 people each, Ty Bach One and Two. We welcomed our first guests on the (scorching) Easter weekend and have hosted many more throughout since. We were keen to keep them in line with the Hall, featuring luxurious and stylish interiors whilst still being comfortable and homely. Although they’re an extension of our wedding accommodation offering, they’re also available to book individually outside of weddings too; we even had guests staying for a week over Christmas!
In 2019 we saw some couples really push the boat out and make use of everything Garthmyl Hall has to offer. One wedding in particular stands out; they arrived on the Friday and held a dinner in the Summerhouse for their friends and family - to welcome everyone to the venue and do the ‘hellos’ and introductions before the big day. Their wedding day on the Saturday was just amazing! They got married in the Walled Garden, held their drinks reception on the lawn, laid on a banquet in the Marquee and danced in the Ballroom. They then turned our Cellar Bar into their very own RAVE CAVE and continued to party in there until the small hours!
Everyone was then called back to the Hall for ‘sequin Sunday’! Bloody Marys were served with brunch and they held a festival themed party in the garden throughout the day with live musicians, food, drinks and everyone dressed in sparkling sequins, before they headed back down to the RAVE CAVE for part two! It was a totally epic wedding weekend and nobody wanted it to end, including us!
We’d also like to say a big THANK YOU to some key suppliers that we have worked with a lot during the past year and consistently do an amazing job. So thank you to Tallulah’s Catering, and Samuel James Catering and also a big thanks to florists Donna at Pheasant Botanica and Leanne at Serendipity Flowers, you are all legends and we love you loads!
We’re so excited to get stuck into 2020 where we have got so many amazing weddings coming up, we’re also exhibiting at our first major wedding show at Tatton Park, and we’ll be holding our next couples reunion event in May, we can’t wait to see everyone again!
Thank you to everyone that has supported Garthmyl Hall in the last year, given us loads of love on the socials, attended events here and recommended us to your friends and family, it mean so much!
