Christmas Fair at Garthmyl Hall

A building such as Garthmyl Hall really comes alive during the festive period. Christmas trees, twinkly lights and beautiful floral displays – it really is stunning. So this year we decided to go one step further and host our own Christmas Fair – really bathe the venue with festive cheer.
The day itself was a roaring success!! It is always difficult to gauge how many people will attend a new event, but with over 1200 visitors throughout the day we couldn't have hoped for a better turnout!
In The Summer House we had Pheasant Botanica running a Christmas Wreath Workshop - a fantastic way to kick off the festive season and to be the envy of your neighbours!! The set up looked beautiful and the finished wreaths really did look impressive!
We had plenty of fun activities for the kids to get involved with and to keep them entertained. Our elf hunt around the grounds and Walled Garden sparked a lot of interest with children eagerly running around trying to find all of the pesky elves so that they could find the secret Christmas word.
We were also lucky enough to have the big man himself visit us in our cellar grotto - it was really magical!
And for all the kids that liked a good old story, our very own Julia was in story corner reading some lovely Christmas books to the children by the fire.
To really add to the Christmas atmosphere, the wonderful Vocalease were in The Ballroom singing some wonderful Christmas tunes, and we had a great surprise visit from the Fire Tones - good luck with getting Christmas Number 1 guys!!!!
All of our wonderful suppliers were set up in the Marquee which was beautifully styled with fairy lights. There were so many wonderful Christmas gift ideas, from jewellery, to pottery to beer - something for everyone, and the hustle and bustle really made the atmosphere electric!
We would just like to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of the suppliers that attended our very first fair, to all of the staff that helped out on the day and in the rather manic lead up, and especially to all of the wonderful visitors that came along - it was lovely to see so many of you and we hope you had a wonderful day with us! Here's to next year!!
