A Cracking Easter-themed Afternoon Tea

A Cracking Easter-themed Afternoon Tea

To say that Easter was a rather hectic time at the Hall this year would be an understatement, but who cares when an afternoon filled with fantastic food, clever cocktails and exquisite entertainment was on the cards!

This time round, our afternoon tea coincided with Easter – cue a great opportunity to go all Easter crazy and experiment with pretty pastels, chick and nest centrepieces and plenty of bunnies!

The Ballroom, Dining Room and Marquee were all beautifully dressed, and we were really lucky with the weather - the sun was shining through the panoramic sides of the semi-permanent marquee making the rooms even more beautiful.

The gorgeous food by Tallulah’s Catering featured sandwiches, goat’s cheese tarts and mini burgers, followed by hot crossed scones, rocky road bites, simnel cakes and mango cheesecakes – piped into hollowed out chocolate eggs and cleverly presented in egg boxes.

To make the event different to other afternoon teas, the customary ‘tea’ element was replaced with quirky and colourful cocktails that complimented the food. A jelly-bean infused vodka topped with Prosecco started proceedings, followed by a retro chocolate milk with Baileys and finished with a ‘Drunken Bunny’ – a refreshing gin and elderflower cocktail.

The afternoon was made even more ambient with a fabulous acoustic set performed throughout by the Acoustic Underdogs.

For many, it was the first time that they had been downstairs to try out our new Cellar Bar, opting to finish the evening off in this quirky and atmospheric space.
