Congratulations you’re engaged! But what are the next steps??

So Valentine’s Day has just been and if your partner took this traditional and romantic opportunity to pop the question, then congratulations!! But what happens next??

Be prepared to get bombarded with questions ranging from ‘how did he do it’, ‘did you cry’ to ‘so have you set a date yet?’ So you may wish to take the time to enjoy the moment with your partner before the deluge starts.

The actual big day may be something that you have planned down to the very smallest of details already, or it may have come as more of a shock and you have no set preferences yet. Either way, take the time to discuss the basics with each other so that you are on the same page from the start. It is no good planning a Church wedding with 200 guests if you partner prefers a smaller civil ceremony with just close friends.

If you have had a set venue in mind for your special day, then that can make the planning stage that bit faster, however, keeping your options open to other venues could result in you finding something even better! A fun and more relaxed way to see if a venue is up your street is to attend other events that the venue may host, they are great opportunities to sus out what a venue is really like rather than just seeing the ‘rehearsed viewing’.
