Elopement’s meaning is shifting towards "a small destination wedding" whereas it used to mean "to run away and secretly get married.” We understand weddings can seem like a stressful experience at the moment, you may be wanting to get married sooner rather than later or in the current climate may have been forced to change your original plans.

We’re currently living in an ever changing world and weddings are having to adapt to this daily, reduced number weddings have become the new normal in 2020 and we want to show you how they don’t need to be mean boring!

On March 23rd 2020 the Government put a lockdown on the UK including banning all weddings, events and social gatherings. This in turn is going to have a huge impact on couples who are due to get married and businesses in the hospitality trade. What a fantastic, magical day! With over 1200 visitors we couldn't have hped for a better turnout!

We had an absolutely fantastic time at our recent Luxury Autumn Wedding Fair. With a record number of suppliers and guests in attendance and what can only be described as perfect autumnal weather, the day really was a massive success!

By opening our gardens for two days we have managed to raise an amazing amount of money for charity!!!

We have been shortlisted for 'Best Stately Home Wedding Venue' in this year's UK Wedding Awards, and we are VERY excited!!

We don't have 'favourite weddings' at Garthmyl Hall because they are all so, so different, however, when Katy and Henry chose the Hall to say 'I do' back in the Summer, we didn't realise just how different and memorable it was going to be!

Saturday 11th November saw our first ever Gin and Jazz evening - and it was great!

On Saturday 28th October we held the second of our Open Air Cinema Experiences, this time with a rather spooky twist! Afterall, how can you make a scary movie more scary? Watch it outside, in the dark!!!

Venues come in so many different shapes and sizes - converted barns, castles, marquees, tipis, rustic, traditional, contemporary. But how do you know when you've found the right one?

Finding new and exciting activities to do with the kids can sometimes be a bit of a chore, however we think we have just made things that little bit easier...

More and more brides are now leaning away from the traditional, indoor wedding and opting for a total change of scenery – outdoors!!

We have now been open for over a year and when we look back over old photos from before we purchased the Hall it is truly amazing to see the transformation that it and we have gone through.

To say that Easter was a rather hectic time at the Hall this year would be an understatement, but who cares when an afternoon filled with fantastic food, clever cocktails and exquisite entertainment was on the cards!

We have recently held our annual Spring Wedding Fair where we invited lots of wonderful suppliers to the Hall to be part of a day where couples and families could come and look around. 

Your wedding day is the one day where you should be as relaxed as possible, with all of the attention being on you. You shouldn’t have to rush or share that time with anybody else.

So Valentine’s Day has just been and if your partner took this traditional and romantic opportunity to pop the question, then congratulations!! But what happens next??

As you might have guessed, we love Valentine’s Day here at Garthmyl Hall and it is definitely one of our favourite holidays!
